Apple has slipped out a ‘special’ invite for media for an event that is supposed to be held on March 27. The event invite, shared by Bloomberg, says the event will be taking place at Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago, Illinois, US. Since Apple is holding the event in a school, it is being assumed that the company could be announcing something in the education field.
The invite shows the Apple logo with the text ‘Let’s take a field trip.’ Further it says, “Join us to hear creative new ideas for teachers and students.”
Rumours on the web indicate that Apple might be using this opportunity to introduce budget versions of the iPad and MacBook Air as they fit in the ‘education’ theme. As mentioned by MacRumors, the company could announce the cheaper 9.7-inch iPad device at around $259. The current model was launched last year in March.

A MacBook Air priced around $799 to $899 is also expected to see the light of the day. The laptop has been talked about by KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo before but he said the arrival of the particular product could be in Q2 2018.
